IPL
Wrinkle Reduction: Rreduce wrinkles and improve your
skin texture - easily and without the pain or injections required
for similar
procedures.
Our
system uses a safe and effective light emitted from a flash-lamp
in combination with a photo spray to quickly eliminate the signs
of aging.
How
does the treatment work? The wrinkle reduction treatment is a
two step procedure:
1) First
the skin is sprayed with photo spray every 5 minutes for 1 hour.
This spray acts as a photosensitiser, making your skin more receptive
to the light and reducing wrinkles by collagen stimulation.
2) After
spraying, a transparent water based gel (similar to that used
in ultrasound examinations) is applied to your face. The operator
then guides the visible light from the flash-lamp to your face
going over the area 3 times.
The
skin cells convert the active ingredient in the photo spray into
a pigment called "protoporphyrin IX" which is red in
colour. The red colour absorbs
the light and triggers a chemical reaction in the cells that
causes the
cell to produce more collagen which eventually will lead to a
reduction in wrinkles.
Is
the photo spray dangerous? No, because the active ingredient in the
photo spray is present at extremely low levels - 0.5%, compared
with typically 20% for similar topical creams. Because it uses
liposomes to transport the active ingredient deep beneath the
surface of the skin, the spray ensures effective treatment results
with even greater safety and convenience than the standard method.
Just close your eyes while spraying.
Is
it necessary to use both the photo spray and the light? Yes, wrinkle
reduction is a combination treatment. Clinical trials have revealed
that neither the photo spray nor the light works on its own -
the combination of the two is necessary.
Can
I be treated? The treatment works in persons with mild to moderate
wrinkles. Thanks to the low energy settings and long light pulses
used in the wrinkle reduction treatment protocol, even darker
coloured skin can be treated safely and effectively. Unlike other
light based treatments, it is even safe to do treatments when
you are sun tanned.
Does
it hurt? No local anaesthetics are needed. Sense of
pain is very individual, but the wrinkle reduction procedure
is based on a
chemical reaction in the skin rather than a thermal reaction
in the skin. Therefore no heating of the skin is required and
as such there is no pain involved.
Is
there any specific pre and post treatment care required? Permanent
Beauty will recommend you to use an exfoliating Gel (or similar)
for at least one week prior to the wrinkle reduction treatment.
The purpose of the exfoliating gel is to remove dead skin cells.
This allows the light to penetrate the skin surface more effectively.
After
the treatment, it is recommended you use a hydrating sunscreen
SPF 30 (or similar) since the skin remians sensitive to light
for a few hours after treatment. The sunscreen also protects
your skin from the sun damage that causes more wrinkles to occur
in the future.
How
many treatents do I needs? Clinical studies have confirmed that
3 treatments with 3 week intervals give the optimal results.
The wrinkle reduction gradually takes place from 1 up to 12 months
after treatment, since collagen production is a slow process.
How
can I be sure its safe and effective? Clinical trials
documenting the systems safety and effectiveness have been carried
out by a worldwide
network of leading doctors.
The results of these tests are then published in respected medical
journals.
